Inspiration eluded me all summer and then I came upon Janet’s Instagram post. It was a carousel of images of her signature cocktail that she enjoyed throughout the summer. The caption read “and so the summer of Negronis comes to an end” I immediately thought to myself “Negroni Summer” now that is a great title for a painting. My imagination ran wild!.
Cocktails are not just drinks that may or may not contain alcohol. I have many friends that enjoy mocktails only. For me, cocktails are a celebration. Cocktails come to the party all dressed up. They can be fancied up with fruits and little umbrellas. They can be sexy. Think Mad Men, or Sex and the City.
The paintings in the Cocktail Collection are not realistic renderings, but rather expressionistic abstracts. With colour and a variety of mediums, I wanted to capture the feelings of fun, happiness, freedom, and excitement, that “on Vacation” feeling I get when enjoying a cocktail. I think I’ve captured those feelings perfectly and I’m so excited to share this collection with you.
Mimosas on the Beach is an original mixed media on canvas. The painting is signed on the back. Varnished for protection. Wired on the back and ready to hang.
